Overview

Train travel Mexico explores train services available in Mexico. Much of the passenger rail service in Mexico was discontinued in 2000. Almost all passengers travel on the route between Chihuahua and Los Mochis. Ferromex operates trains on two routes:

* Guadalajara-Amatitán-Guadalajara (Round-trip tours two times per week)

* Chihuahua-Los Mochis (Commonly know as the Copper Canyon train - ten trains per week in each direction)

There are urban passenger train services in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. This is a nice option for travelers trying to navigate the crowded city streets.

The following tours are available with luxurious, pampered services and accommodations:

Canyon Travel operates scenic Copper Canyon train travel Mexico tours.

Expreso Maya operates luxury tours through Mayan ruins within the Yucutan Peninsula.
